Care and Maintenance Guide
Stone Bench Top
Congratulations on your choice of a Stone bench top for your kitchen surface.
Below you will find some care and maintenance information to help keep your new Stone bench top in great condition for years to come
Low Maintenance
Engineered Stone is designed to offer high performance with low maintenance. Being non porous, it will never need sealing or waxing. A little common sense is all that is required to care for and preserve your new top.
Everyday Cleaning
We recommend cleaning your new Stone bench top regularly with Geal CB - 90 neutral detergent, ensuring you do a final wipe with clean water. 1L CB - 90 Concentrate is available from Top Stone. Never use abrasive cleaning products as this may take the shine off your top.
Heat Resistance
Engineered Stone is designed and manufactured to withstand moderate heat, but is not heat proof. Damage may occur if you place extremely hot objects such as pots/pans directly from the oven, onto the surface. To prevent these issues, use an insulating pad (eg timber bread board, hot pad, trivet). Slow Cookers, Air Fryers etc should also be placed on an insulating pad. The effects of sitting hot objects on your stone top will not
be covered by any product warranty.
Durability
Engineered Stone is resistant to all kinds of cracks, chips, scratches and stains, however should be treated with care. Excessive force, high point loads, pressure or heat, may cause damage to the surface. Any spillages / staining should immediately be soaked up with a paper towel.
Things to Avoid
• Exposure to high impact, especially on the edges.
• Using knives or cutting utensils directly onto your benchtop.
• Exposure to excessive heat.
• Exposure to any harsh chemicals or acidic liquids, such as paint strippers, bleach, nail polish remover and lemon juice. These can cause discolouration.
• Excessive weight being placed on the bench top. Please avoid sitting or standing on any part of the bench.
